Tami Jane (Grimm) Smith age 53 of Knoxville, passed away Monday Sept. 24, 2012, at the Mercy Medical Center of Des Moines.
Tami was born on Dec. 2, 1958, in Charles City, Iowa, to Henry and Carol “Shirley” (Ramker) Grimm. Tami attended Charles City High School and later she received her LPN degree.
Tami worked as a LPN most of her life. She worked in Charles City and later in Knoxville.
On March 3, 2004, in Knoxville, Tami and Billy Glenn Smith were united in marriage. They were together for 15 years and shared eight years of marriage before her passing.
Tami is survived by her husband Bill of Knoxville; her two children Sara Wright and husband Justin and her son Peter Key; her two step- children Taylor Smith and Tasha Smith; and five grandchildren. Tami is also survived by her step-mother Sally Smith; two brothers Tom Grimm and Ted Grimm; one sister Terry (Ron) Camarta; two sister-in-laws Garla Comer and Deanna Wahl; one brother-in-law Donnie Smith; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Carol “Shirley” Grimm; her step-father Raymond Smith; and her step- mother Kathy Morris.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at Graceland Cemetery of Knoxville, with Pastor Mary Roozeboom officiating.
