Nic Brady

Russell — Nic was born in Richland, Wash., on March 26, 1993.  He lived there with his mother Penney (Ruth), sister Briauna Farrell and step-father Mike Johnson.  At the age of 8 years old, the family moved back to Chariton where Nic reunited with his father, Mike Cobb.

Nic attended Russell Junior High and Wayne Community High School in Corydon.

After high school, Nic had aspirations to have his own company, called NGB Enterprises, with which he intended to perfect a hydro-electric car.  He was working for his step-father Randy Braaksma at R&P Manufacturing as a welder.

He always enjoyed mechanics and working on cars and motorbikes with his good friends.  He recently took up sketching and drawing as a hobby.  He had a profound love of animals and had many beloved pets throughout his life.  His faith was very important to him and he was happy to explain to anyone how important God was in his life.

Nic had a love of life and adventure.  He lived large and died tragically in an accident on the train tracks east of Chariton.

He was survived by his mother, Penney Braaksma, step-father Randy Braaksma, father Mike Cobb, grandmothers Janet Ruth, Barb Cobb and Pat Braaksma, grandfather Ernie Ruth, sisters Kelly Johnson, Nicole Vought, Lynn Cobb, Briauna Farrell, Lindsey Braaksma, Madison Cobb, Mikaila Cobb, Briley Cobb and brothers Jevon Polo, Larry Holmes, Sully Cobb and Brayden Cobb.  Also survived by many aunts and uncles, including Aunt Kelley (Ruth) and Uncle Ron Deen, three nieces and three nephews and many cousins.  Nic was preceded in death Uncle Robbie Ruth.

Services were held Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at Fielding Funeral Home located in Chariton,  with Pastor Josh Verwers officiating.
