Paula Sue Sedlock

Paula Sue Sedlock, age 69 of Knoxville, and formerly of Pershing and Tracy, passed away Monday afternoon, March 31, 2014, at the West Ridge Nursing & Rehab Center in Knoxville.

Paula was born Jan. 31, 1945, in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of Paul S. and Vivian M. (Hickman) Zyla. Paula family moved many times and Paula graduated from Escondido High School in Escondido, Calif.

While living in Escondido Paula met Robert J. Sedlock, Sr. On Sept. 24, 1966, in Knoxville, Paula and Robert were united in marriage. They shared 47 years of marriage and were blessed with five children: Theresa, Donovan, Kathy, Brad, and Robert, Jr.

Paula was a dedicated homemaker and caregiver, raising her five children. Later, after her children were raised she began to work at the care centers in Knoxville. She obtained her CNA Certificate and also her CMA certificate. Paula also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, painting, drawing, cooking, gardening and most importantly spending time with her grandchildren.

Paula is survived by her husband Robert J. Sedlock, Sr. of Knoxville; five children, Theresa (Roger) Cecil of Knoxville, Donovan (Leslie) Sedlock of Knoxville, Kathy (Doug) Harrington of Harvey, Brad (Michelle) Sedlock of Tracy and Robert “Joey” (Nichole) Sedlock, Jr. of Knoxville; 27 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Debbie (Alan) Becker, Sharon Zyla and Denise (Bill) Thoenen all of Jefferson City, Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Vivian Zyla.

A gathering with Paula’s family present was held Wednesday evening, April 2, 2014, at the Winfield Funeral Home, with a prayer service.

A memorial has been established to Quality Home Care Professionals or to Park Lane Village Activities. Condolences may be sent to www.winfieldfh.com.

The Winfield Funeral Home of Knoxville is helping Paula’s family with arrangements.
