Jo Ann Trublood

Knoxville —  

A Celebration of Life for Jo Ann Trueblood, age 76 of Knoxville, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum from 3-7 p.m.

Jo Ann Luscri was born on Sept. 1, 1936, in Pershing, the daughter of Dominic Luscri and Catherine (Mediate) Luscri.

She attended school in Attica and following graduation went on to AIB in Des Moines.  She was united in marriage to Vernon Trueblood on Sept. 21, 1958, in Knoxville.   Jo Ann worked as an accountant at the Knoxville VA Hospital until her retirement.

Jo Ann was an avid reader, self taught golfer and a seamstress.  She loved her family and was very proud of her children and grandchildren.  Jo Ann’s special dishes, which her grandchildren loved, were meatballs and chocolate chip pancakes.  She was an avid Hawkeye fan and participated frequently in bridge club.

Jo Ann passed away on Sept. 8, 2012, at the Iowa Health-Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Survivors include her husband, Vernon Trueblood; children, Joy Trueblood of West Des Moines, Glenn Trueblood of Cedar Rapids, Kay Trueblood of Edgewater, Colo.; grandchildren, Nicholas Jordan of West Des Moines, Callarisse Trueblood and her mother Tralawney of Cedar Rapids and a brother, Frank (Mary Kay) Luscri of Hurst, Texas.
