The problem is that the clique usually gets what is coming to them, but in the case of Washington, these individuals will not face the consequences; we will.
The liberals’ actions during the shutdown have shown how little they think of us. Did you notice that the only things that seemed to be affected were those aspects of government that provide benefit or enjoyment to the people? The barricades across open air memorials that people spend a great deal of money on possibly once-in-a-lifetime trips to visit? Assistance programs to poor people? Veterans? Our military?
Even the accountability to the people was affected. Assistant AG Peter Deegan told me Thursday morning that I was his first press call since the start of the shutdown. They weren’t allowed to talk to the press during the shut down, but they could still execute search warrants? Does that seem right to you?
If we want the clique to see us, outside of their ivory tower, we need to start chopping it down at the ground level. That means getting involved in government, paying attention and doing everything possible to maintain our independence from them.
Otherwise, the clique will continue to steamroll over all of us and rule the halls with such an iron fist that we will be afraid to hold our heads up and stand our ground.
