Popcorn is a whole grain, making it a good-for-you food and since it is promoted by organizations such as the National Cancer Institute (NCI), the American Dental Association (ADA) and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (A.N.D.), there’s no doubt popcorn is a perfectly sensible snack to fit into any meal/fitness plan.
This recipe comes from Jolly Time Popcorn:
Pick Up Sticks
-12 cups popped popcorn
-1 cup sesame sticks
-1 cup cashews
-3 tablespoons butter or margarine
-1 teaspoon soy sauce
-1 teaspoon honey
-1 teaspoon grated orange rind
-1/2 teaspoon Chinese 5-spice powder (or 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger and a dash of red pepper)
Place popped popcorn, sesame sticks and cashews in large bowl. Melt butter in small pan; add soy sauce, honey, orange rind and 5-spice powder. Drizzle over popcorn and toss lightly.
