Knoxville — As of Thursday afternoon, over 8,500 Marion County voters have already submitted their absentee ballots.
Marion County Auditor Jake Grandia said the window at the Auditor's Office has seen approximately 100 voters a day come in to vote early. There are approximately 24,000 registered voters in the county.
Iowa Secretary of State Matt Schultz has warned international election observers about coming too close to any Iowa voting site. Grandia said he has not heard from anyone about the possibility of these people coming to Marion County. There will be regular poll watchers on hand at Marion County's poll sites, as there are for every election.
Inside today's (Nov. 2) print edition of the Journal-Express is a special section about the election. It includes poll site locations, candidate interviews and information about the judges up for retention on Marion County ballots.
