Sabers top the Eagles 9-0 in a varsity softball contest

---- — The Twin Cedars softball team took a break from conference play to host Pella Christian. The Sabers and the Eagles tangled on Wednesday, June 20. What had all the earmarks of a good game turned out to be a lopsided affair in favor of the Sabers.

Twin Cedars topped the Eagles 9-0. The Sabers scored one run in the first inning, one in the third, three in the fourth, two in the fifth, and two in the sixth. Brittney Roby handled the pitching duties for TC. She allowed just two hits and struck out six .

Roby was 4-4 at the plate, with a double and a triple. She scored four runs. Baylee Zellmer was 2-3, with three RBI. Payton Fee was 2-4, with a double and an RBI. Ayla Crosby drove in two runs. Bailey Stone was 1-3, with an RBI. Alee Hugen and Bailey Dunkin had double.

Shannon Fynaardt took the pitching loss for Pella Christian. Nicole Kelderman and Taylor Harston each pitched in relief. Jenna Roose and Taylor Harston had the only hits for the Eagles.
