Twin Cedars 9-Van Buren Keosauqua 5
Twin Cedars faced one of the toughest games that they have in the last three weeks when they traveled to Keosauqua to take on the 16-4 Van Buren Warriors last Saturday.
The Sabers had on their power-hitting shoes as they hit four home runs. TC opened an 8-2 lead after three and a half innings of play.
The skies opened up and the rains fell. The game was delayed for about 35 minutes. During this time, TC starting pitcher Coy Moore continued to throw in the bullpen to stay loose. When play resumed Moore gave up a three-run home run in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the score 8-5.
Saber head coach Matt Miller brought Roby on in the fifth to pitch in relief.
Moore picked up the win in the 9-5 game. He gave up five runs, on five hits and five walks. He also struck out five batters. Roby pitched three innings of scoreless ball. He gave up four hits, while striking out three.
Offensively, Harrell was 3-3, with two home runs and four RBI. Embray was also 3-3, with one home run and four RBI. Parker hit the other home run. Clark was 2-3, with a double. Moore and Roby each had one hit.
Twin Cedars began the week of July 1 with a record of 26-1.
