As a sophomore Birittney carried a .655 batting average, which is listed as the best all-time batting average in the state.
Last year she dipped slightly to a .634 batting clip.
The Twin Cedars Sabers have won four Bluegrass Conference titles with Brittney on the squad.
Jim Dunkin was the head softball coach her eighth grade and freshman seasons. Zack Dunkin took over the head coaching duties the past two years.
DMACC Head Coach Bob Ligouri said he looks to sign 10 players.
The DMACC Bears were seventh in the nation in Ligouri’s first season at the helm. The team was ranked sixth in the nation last year.
The Bears play NJCAA D-II softball.
Ligouri commented, “Brittney is the type young lady we build our program around.”
He said Brittney will play outfield for the Bears.
Twin Cedars Head Softball Coach Zack Dunkin replied, “Brittney is our second softball signing at the school in the past two years.”
Dunkin added, “I’m happy for Brittney. Softball is her passion.”
The Sabers were 24-9 last year in softball.
