Twin-Cedars tops Saints, 1-0

---- — The Twin Cedars softball team hosted Melcher-Dallas Thursday, June 13 for round two of the Marion County rival. The Saints won the first contest on May 23 6-5. M-D took advantage of Saber errors to gain the win.

This time it was the Sabers who took advantage of the Saints’ errors to get the 1-0 win.

Neither team was able to score through six and a half innings of play. In the bottom of the seventh lead-off batter Payton Fee reached base on an M-D error. Two batters later Bailey Dunkin laid down a nice one out bunt that was meant to advance the runner to second. A wild throw by the Saints allowed Fee to come all the way around from first and score the winning run.

Mackenzie Sedlock picked up the win in the circle for Twin Cedars. She allowed five hits and one walk. Sedlock struck out two. Ayla Crosby and Alee Hugen had the only hits for the Sabers.

Lexi Crozier pitched a two hit ballgame for the Saints. She walked three. The Saints had five hits. Anastasia Dennison was 2-3, with a double.TC improved to 9-6 and M-D fell to 9-8.
