---- — The Knoxville Panthers evened their season record at 2-2 with a resounding 8-0 win over the Chariton Chargers at home Monday night.
The contest was held at Ken Locke Memorial Stadium. The new home of the Panthers for the 2013 season due to grass issues being poor at the regular home field for the team.
Knoxville led 2-0 at halftime with both goals being scored by Matt Smith.
In the second half the Panthers rolled up six more scores.
Smith finished with a hat trick as he added his third goal of the night.
The Panthers also had two goals from sophomore Alex Dye and one goal apiece from David Dye, Derek Glover and Colin Moyle.
Picking up assists in the victory were Luke Bachman, Kale Clark, Alex Dye, Brandon Hal and Jake Stearns with two.
Recording the shut out in goal for the Panthers was junior goalkeeper Tyler Wadle.
The Panthers opened the season with a 4-0 win over the Carlisle Wildcats.
The two losses were to Grinnell 2-1 and to Albia 2-0.
Knoxville is coached by Dylan Mick.
Knoxville will face Fairfield at home at Ken Locke Memorial Stadium April 15 starting at 5:30 p.m. with JV action.
