The No. 7 Missouri softball team powered past and shut out Missouri State, winning with a five-inning, 12-0 result before a second 7-0 win in its doubleheader at Killian Stadium on Wednesday, April 3.
The Tigers smacked seven home runs over the two games.
Two-time All-American pitcher Chelsea Thomas (Pleasantville, Iowa) started both games for Mizzou and threw 4.0 innings in the opening game before tossing 3.0 innings in the second. She earned the win in the opening contest to improve to 13-1 in 2013 and record her 100th career victory at Mizzou.
Fellow senior Nicole Hudson (Webb City, Mo.) threw the final 4.0 innings in the second game to take the win (6-0).
Mizzou’s wins improved its record to 22-2 overall. The Bears dropped to 14-18 with the two losses.
