Matt Miller has been named the new Twin Cedars Athletic Director.
Miller replaced Justin Nolte, who was the A.D. before taking a job last fall in the Melcher-Dallas School District.
Filling the duties as TC Athletic Director before Miller was named to the position in late April were TC Superintendent Brian VanderSluis and TC Principal Dave Roby.
Miller is in his fourth season on the staff at Twin Cedars. Before coming to TC he was serving as Athletic Director at Mormon Trail for three years.
In addition to serving as athletic director Miller will continue to teach Social Studies at the high school and junior high.
According to Miller, in serving as the new A.D., he wants to make sure participation numbers in athletics stay strong.
He also wants to work at revamping the Twin Cedars Booster Club. He aims to get some more people helping when volunteers are needed at the school.
Miller said he will continue to serve as the TC varsity baseball coach. The Sabers reached the No. 1 ranking in the state a year ago in their class and qualified for the state tournament.
Five of this year’s TC seniors have signed letters-of-intent for college scholarships in the sport of baseball.
The five are Hunter Embray, Corey Harrell, Coy Moore, Drew Carlson and Garret Pettyjohn.
Miller said there are a lot of things he likes about teaching and coaching at Twin Cedars.
“I’m excited about the kids we have and their attitudes. We also have a good group of coaches and tremendous support from the community,” he commented.
Matt Miller and his wife Danielle have two young boys, Connor, who just turned seven and Wyatt, who is five.
