The Twin Cedars baseball team traveled to Murray on Thursday, May 29th to play in the Murray Tournament. The Sabers were leading Murray 2-1 in the second inning of the championship game when the lights went out. Unable to get the lights back on the game was halted. The two teams will finish the game on Thursday, July 3.
The Sabers defeated Central Decatur 17-0 in a first round tournament game. Trace Embray teamed up with Garret Pettyjohn to record the shutout. T. Embray threw three innings, giving up one hit, walking two, and striking out four, to get the win. Pettyjohn pitched one inning and recorded two strikeouts.
The Sabers took advantage of the short outfield fence at Murray and knocked out four home runs. Corey Harrell led the Saber offense with two home runs that led to five RBI’s. Otis Roby had a double and a home run, and also drove in five runs. Coy Moore had a double and a solo home run. Pettyjohn was 1-2 at the plate, with three RBI’s.
