---- — To say that the Melcher-Dallas baseball team swung the bats well when they traveled to Seymour on Tuesday, July 2, might be an understatement.
The Saints, who have struggled offensively at times this season, accumulated 24 hits against the Warriors. M-D won the four-inning game 25-0.
Melcher-Dallas scored seven runs in the first inning, eight runs in the second, one in the third, and nine more in the fourth.
Offensively, Clay Wetterling was 4-4, with a triple and two RBI. Jered Johnston was 4-4, with two doubles and two RBI. Matt Johnson was 4-4, with two RBI. Trent Flesher went 4-5, with a double and four RBI. Chase Wetterling was 3-3, with a double and six RBI. Alex Mitchell 2-4, with one RBI. Caleb Bennett had a double and an RBI. Jake Carter had one hit.
Kenneth Wadle pitched the four-inning affair. He allowed one hit and four walks. Wadle struck out seven batters.
Melcher-Dallas finished 7-7 in Bluegrass Conference play. The Saints are 7-11 overall.
