Knoxville Coach Mike Cunningham II has five events qualified for the Drake Relays this week in Des Moines.
Cunningham’s Knoxville Panther track squad will compete in the 100 with Tanner Dunkin, the 1,600 and 3,200 with Wick Cunningham running both open events.
Dunkin will run his 100 preliminary heat race Friday morning at 8:46 a.m.
Cunningham was slated to run the 3,200 meter race (yesterday) Thursday while the 1,600 is set for Saturday afternoon at 1:09 p.m.
Knoxville’s medley relay team of Colton Spaur, Tanner Dunkin, Ryan Douglas and Cunningham have also qualified for Drake. The same four young men have the Panthers running at Drake in the 4x400 meter relay.
The two relay teams will run Friday. The medley team in the morning and the 4x400 squad in the evening.
At the 2012 Drake Relays Derek Seddon captured a gold medal for winning the discus with a heave of 172’2”.
