---- — Knoxville was one runner shy of having enough athletes to compile a score at the Knoxville Invitational Cross Country outing Tuesday, Oct. 1.
Running for Coach Mike Moats’ KHS squad were Courtney Hughs in 15th place with a time of 18:18 over the 4K Pine Knolls Course.
Next to finish for the Panthers was Kaeline Schuenke in 29th at 19:34. She was followed by Tori Johnston in 40th at 20:43 and Emily Murphy in 65th at 24:01.
Winning the varsity girls’ team title was the Pella High Lady Dutch with 28 points. Pella’s Kelcey Blommers won the varsity race in 16:07.
A total of 10 teams scored points in the varsity meet.
In middle school action the Panthers were eighth.
Knoxville had Emery Neer lead the way in 30th place with a time of 14:25. Next was Taylor Purvis in 35th at 14:56 followed by Britney Kindley in 43rd at 15:30.
The rest of the Knoxville runners consisted of Grace Loscher 47th at 15:40, Maddy Mead 52nd at 16:32 and Jordan Salato 53rd at 17:23.
The Panther middle school runners are coached by Randy Wilson.
