Helping Hands of Marion County recently received $8,600 in donations from three different sources. United Way of Marion County gave $3,600, Marion County Community Action Foundation gave $2,000, and the Catholic Diocese of Davenport gave $3,000 from its annual Rice Bowl collection.
“It’s a lifeline,” said Chuck Galeazzi of Helping Hands. “These gifts give us the opportunity to do the works of mercy.”
Helping Hands, 110 W. Main St., provides food, clothing, household items, and shelter for people in crisis.
