Reclaiming the Joy, a new retail store, celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Nov. 1.

Owner Pat Brown was joined by the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors to honor the store’s opening.

Brown says she had lived vicariously through owners of similar businesses for years. Eventually, she found a location she liked for her own business and decided to open Reclaiming the Joy.

“It’s kind of a dream come true,” Brown said.

Reclaiming the Joy sells gift items and decorations for the home. The store is currently stocked with seasonal items to for the holiday season. Brown says customers will also find gift ideas for other occasions, such as birthdays and anniversaries.

“There is a little bit of everything,” she says.

Now that Reclaiming the Joy is open for business, Brown says she is looking forward to meeting different people in the community. Reclaiming the Joy is located at 302 N Sherman Street, Suite 2.
