Today's car show, located in front of the Knoxville Public Library, got off to a slow start this morning as the rain stuck around until the show began at 11 a.m. More cars are expected to come to the show throughout the day.

The number of expected cars is unknown as car owners are not required to register for this show. At about 11:30 a.m. there were eight cars and four motorcycles on display.

Cars came from Montezuma, Pleasantville, Martinsburg and Knoxville.

Bob Colbert, the main organizer of the show, visited car shows throughout the year passing out flyers with information about Knoxville's car show during Nationals.

The car show will be from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. with a special appearance by McKenna Haase at the library at 1 p.m. to read to children.

Knoxville Public Library Director, Roslin Thompson, would like to thank the Knoxville Tourism Board for issuing them a $1,000 grant to advertise and promote the car show in and out of Knoxville.
