Members of the business community gathered together for the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce’s Fall Social on October 3.
The Chamber holds its annual gathering in the winter, but the Fall Social was an additional way to get people in the business community together.
“We wanted an additional opportunity for people to come together and communicate what they’re doing, ways they can collaborate and to just learn about new stuff that’s going on,” said Hannah Vander Veer, Chamber of Commerce Executive Director.
The social, held at the top of the Bryan Clauson Suite Tower at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame, featured live music from Jackson St. Edition. There was also food from The Coffee Connections and drinks provided by Peace Tree Brewing and Yearwood Winery and Vineyeards.
During the weekend of October 10 and 11, Vander Veer says local businesses are partnering together to plan events over Homecoming weekend. The events are being marketed as Octoberfest.
Octoberfest events include a BBQ contest at Atlantic and Pacific Pub, as well as giveaways and specials at various other businesses.
Although Octoberfest is not a Chamber of Commerce sponsored event, Vander Veer says it will provide a fun opportunity for people who will be in Knoxville for Homecoming weekend.
