Law enforcement have filed additional charges against a Knoxville man and woman accused of child neglect.
Rocky Lee Wooldridge, 49, of Knoxville, and Jennifer Lee Wooldridge, 43, of Knoxville, now each face first-degree kidnapping charges following their arrests on Friday, May 10.
Rocky Wooldridge was already facing charges of neglect or abandonment of a dependent person and two counts of possession of a firearm from March.
Jennifer Wooldridge has now been charged with multiple acts of child endangerment, and neglect or abandonment of a dependent person.
The charges stem from the same investigation conducted by the Iowa Department of Human Services in March. Investigators began with a call to the Knoxville Hospital where a minor child showed signs of abuse.
Law enforcement and DHS investigated the home, finding the child’s room covered in plastic sheeting with one blanket and one pillow. There were also wet pull ups and wet underwear present in the room.
The child’s body showed signs of thermal injury to both feet and deep bruising on the arm. The child stated they hadn’t been outside since the summer.
Rocky Wooldridge was identified as the child’s adoptive father, and it was said that the child’s mother had been gone for some time.
