Knoxville resident and labor activist Marcia Nichols was one of ten Iowans named to 2020 presidential candidate Cory Booker’s steering committee. Nichols is the former Iowa Political Director for the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), Iowa’s largest public sector union.

Nichols said, “Cory Booker is an inspirational candidate who works every day to protect the middle class and help working Americans fulfill their dreams. Cory has long been a fierce advocate for the working men and women across our nation, which is why I am proud to throw my full support behind him.”

The Cory for Iowa Steering Committee includes a diverse group of Iowa leaders who will help advise the campaign in Iowa and organize caucus-goers in their communities.

Other members of the Iowa for Cory Steering Committee include Rep. Amy Nielsen, Rep. Jennifer Konfrst, Rep. Mark Smith, Jerry Crawford, council member Mazahir Salih, council member Dale Todd, council member Bruce Teague, Iowa State Central Committee Member Landra Jo Reece and Iowa State Central Committee Member Melinda Jones.
