The Knoxville community participated in the Healthiest State Initiative by holding the Knoxville Community Panther Walk on October 2.

Students from each of the Knoxville schools were joined by community members, business owners and family members at the Randy Wilson Track. Students from each school were given 45 minutes to walk as many laps as possible during the allotted time.

Community members were encouraged to join in the Panther Walk, as a way to promote walking and healthy living to everyone within the Knoxville community.

This year marked the ninth annual Healthiest State Walk for Iowa. The walk serves as an opportunity for community members to join thousands of other Iowans around the state in walking outside on October 2.

The Healthiest State Walk kicks off Healthiest State Month, taking place throughout the month of October.
