The Knoxville School Board approved the purchase of 118 new Apple TVs for the district at their regular meeting on July 15.
The Apple TVs will be placed throughout the four schools across the district, as well as the administrative building. The district will also replace any old Apple TVs to ensure all the technology across the district is of the same model.
The Apple TVs will serve as a resource in the classroom, as they will allow teachers to display their screens during lessons while allowing them to move around the classroom and not be stationed in one position. The Apple TVs will also give teachers the opportunity to share student work with the class and have access to monitoring student activity while using their iPads.
The board also approved changes to the district’s Series 500 policy, as well as fundraisers for the 2019-20 school year. The next school board meeting is scheduled for Aug. 12.
