The Marion County Historical Society will host a presentation and discussion of “The Towns Under Lake Red Rock” on Monday, September 16 at 7 p.m. The event will be held at the First United Methodist Church Activity Center located at 308 E. Robinson in Knoxville.
Tracy Spry with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Red Rock office will discuss six Marion County river towns and other historical points of interest that were lost in the development of Red Rock Reservoir. The towns of Red Rock, Cordova, Coalport, Fifield, Rousseau, and Dunreath will be examined.
All members of the Marion County Historical Society and the general public are invited to attend. Persons with a family history from Red Rock or the other towns are especially invited to take part in the discussion to follow the presentation. Light refreshments will be served.
