Twin Cedars Homecoming Candidates

The Twin Cedars Sabers 2019 Homecoming King and Queen candidates. The Sabers will host Homecoming Friday, Sept. 13 when they play host to Colo-Nesco at 7 p.m. The King and Queen will be announced at halftime of the game. King candidates include in the front from the left, Hunter McCombs, Austin Test, Trenton Reed and Zach Peterson. The Queen candidates at TC include Athena Bruns, Raeleigh Weldon, Caitlyn Reed and Kaya DesPlanque.

Homecoming 2019 in Saber Land is shaping up to be very big according to Andrea Moore, Homecoming co-sponsor at Twin Cedars.

Moore and Trish McCarty share the co-sponsor duties at the school. Moore has been a sponsor for Twin Cedars Homecoming for over 10 years.

“I like being creative and watching the students have fun and get a chance to goof around a little,” Moore said. “It’s a change of pace from everyday in the classroom.”

Twin Cedars will play host to Colo-Nesco for the Friday, Sept. 13, Homecoming contest that will kick-off at 7 p.m.

Prior to the game, there is a whole lot going on before to make the week special.

Dress up days for the week of Homecoming include “Merica Monday” – (Sept. 9) where students dress in red, white and blue.

That is followed by Tropical Tuesday, Redneck/Wild West Wednesday and Thriller Thursday, where the students dress with a Halloween theme for a frighteningly good time.

Friday, Sept. 13, will be spirit day for the school with the blue and white school colors on display.

In regard to a schedule of events the week started with Tuesday, Sept. 10, after the varsity volleyball game a Glow-in-the-Dark Volleyball fun on the court.

Wednesday at 12:10 p.m. the annual FFA contest known as “Kiss an Animal/Saber Games.”

In the past animals that have been kissed include a catfish, pigs, ducks, goats, a llama and a bearded dragon to name a few.

Friday, Sept. 13 at 1:10 p.m. – will be a Pep Rally in the High School Gymnasium. School will be dismissed at 2:15.

The Parade in Bussey will be from the Bussey Ball Field to the Park. The parade gets underway at 5 p.m.

Halftime of the game Friday the King and Queen Coronation takes place.

The 2019 Queen contestants are Athena Bruns, Kaya DesPlanque, Caitlyn Reed and Raeleigh Weldon.

King candidates for the 2019 event include Hunter McCombs, Zach Peterson, Trent Reed and Austin Test.

After the game a dance will be held at the school.
