Paddle to Hickory Ridge on Aug. 2 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Whitebreast Campground

Join us for a leisurely paddle to the Hickory Ridge Wilderness Campground. Bring your own kayak or borrow one free of charge. A limited number of kayaks are available, so pre-registration is needed if you want to borrow one. (Must be at least 16 years old to borrow kayaks for the activity, and adults must accompany minors.) Forest Scavenger Hunt on Aug. 3, 9 a.m. at Whitebreast Campground

Join the search for clues about the hidden world of plants and animals in Red Rock's woodlands. Use your mind and your hide-and-seek skills to help you in your quest. Meet in the parking lot near the fee-booth by the campground entrance.

Building the Red Rock Dam on Aug. 3, 10 a.m. at the Visitor Center

In March, 1969, the Des Moines River Valley changed forever as the newly constructed Red Rock Dam closed its gates for the first time, creating the reservoir we know as Lake Red Rock. Join a park ranger to learn how the dam was built and how it changed the Red Rock area.

Snake Lunchtime on Aug. 3, p.m. at the Visitor Center

It's feeding day at the visitor center! Stop by and join the center's resident snakes as they have a bite to eat!

Programs are free of charge. Outdoor activities will be canceled if raining or inclement weather.
