After celebrating its grand re-opening on August 24, the Knoxville Public Library is excited to get back into the swing of things in the newly renovated facility.

September brings several programs and events to the library. The fall Lifelong Learning series kicks off next week with two programs. Other events and programs taking place at the library are listed below.

Monday, September 9 at 1:30 p.m. — The Stiletto Girls (Lifelong Learning program). Authors Glenna West, C. Deanne Rowe and Magnolia “Maggie” Rivers will talk about how they began writing the “Stiletto Anthologies”, how they got published and how you can too!

Tuesday, September 10 at 6 p.m. — Library DIY, Wine Bottle Art

Bottles and materials (mod podge, yarn, paint, etc.) will be provided, but feel free to bring any of your own items for a custom creation!

Wednesday, September 11 at 1:30 p.m. — Hershey Chocolate Road Trip (Lifelong Learning program)

Librarian Laura Keyes will share the behind the scenes story of the beloved American chocolate company.

Tuesday, September 17 at 1 p.m. — “Tomorrow is Another Day” (Lifelong Learning program)

Always popular historian Kathy Wilson returns to tell us about Margaret Mitchell, Gone with the Wind, and the “Lost Cause” .

Thursday, September 19 at 6 p.m. — Trivia Night

Bring your own team or be assigned when you arrive. Questions aimed at middle/high school and up. Snacks provided will be provided.

Monday, September 23 at 5:30 p.m. — Local Author Ashley Lovell reads from her latest, Awakened Evil, book two of the Keeper of the Souls series.

Thursday, September 26 at 6 p.m. — Carnegie Libraries (Lifelong Learning program) Dr. Shana Stuart will tell us about Andrew Carnegie’s legacy of libraries.
