The Your Life Matters 5K Walk/Run had 386 participants this year and raised over $17,000.
With that money raised, the committee is able to bring Mental Health speaker Jeff Yalden to Knoxville. He will do a community presentation at KPAC on Monday, September 30 at 7 p.m. The event is free to the public and everyone is urged to attend.
Yalden will also do special assemblies with Knoxville middle school students in the afternoon on September 30th and with Knoxville high school students in the morning of Tuesday, October 1st.
The Your Life Matters committee would like to thank all of the participants and volunteers whose efforts were really what made this event possible. They look forward to continuing efforts to promote suicide prevention and awareness in our community. The committee is always exploring ways to save lives, and encourages new ideas be submitted anytime through their Facebook page.
