OTTUMWA — Community 1st Credit Union has received a high honor from the Iowa Finance Authority.
The IFA offers affordable mortgage and down payment assistance for eligible home buyers through a network of financial institutions.
The credit union was given the Gold Lender Designation Award for its work with IFA loans. The company generated almost $10 million in IFA loan volume, which included 128 home buyers who received assistance.
Community 1st is a not-for-profit credit union with more than $640 million in assets and 58,000 members. It was founded in 1936. The company’s headquarters is in Ottumwa.
