OSKALOOSA — Insufficient evidence of abuse or neglect of animals was found at Rosewood Pork, Inc. by the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a news release, the sheriff’s office received a complaint from a representative of Direct Action Everywhere on Jan. 23, 2020 of possible animal abuse or neglect at Rosewood Pork, owned by Sen. Ken Rozenboom and his brother, Calvin Rozenboom.

The complaint indicated hogs in a confinement building had suffered from abuse or neglect.

The Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office concluded its investigation, in association with the Iowa Department of Land Stewardship, on Feb. 12, 2020, with a statement there was insufficient evidence of abuse or neglect of the animals and the complaint was considered unfounded.
