The 2020 Iowa Shrine Football game slated for July 18 at 4 p.m. in the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls is starting to take shape.

Two players from Marion County have been selected to be participants for the South Team this season.

Pella Coach Jay McKinstrey has announced that Mason Huerter, a 6’1” 240 pound lineman has been selected to play in the contest.

Pella was 8-3 this past season they won the District 7 Championship. The Dutch went on to beat Independence in the first round of the playoffs before losing to Solon in the second round.

Also selected to play in the game is Pleasantville senior Cale Anthony. Anthony led all of Class 1A in rushing this past year with nearly 1,800 yards on the ground and 25 touchdowns.

The Trojans posted a 2019 record of 5-4 overall. Anthony will walk on to play football for the Iowa State Cyclones.
