The Pleasantville girls were 2nd and the boys 3rd at the Central Decatur Cross Country Invite held Sept. 10 in Leon.

The PHS girls were led by Hailee McCormick in fourth place at 23:20. Next to finish was Ashlyn McConnell 10th at 24:39 and Emmie Kenyon 11th at 24:47.

Rounding out the team scoring were Sophia Mason 18th at 26:47 and Riley Thill 19th at 26:51.

Pleaantville had 62 points while Chariton won with 20.

In the boys 5K race, Devon Luing was 7th at 18:50 and Trenton Major 8th at 18:55. Trevor Pulse, Jeremy Colboth and Justin Nickel also scored. The Trojans tallied 84 points.

Melcher-Dallas’ Emery Sage was second in the varsity race with a run of 17:25.
