Nothing ever comes easy in life. That’s been the case for the Pleasantville Trojan varsity softball team.

The Trojans swept league opponent Des Moines Christian 8-2 and 7-6.

The Trojans breezed to the win in game one behind the pitching of Abby DeJoode. The offense cranked out 16 hits, four of them by Faith Vander Hart and two apiece from Sydnee McKinney, Makenzie McGriff, Taylor Foley and Bridgette McKinney.

S. McKinney, Vander Hart and B McKinney all hit a home run.

Game two was a quick 7-0 lead before the Lions roared back, only to fall by a run. Vander Hart was the winning pitcher in game two.

The Trojans split with Ogden winning 14-1 in game two after falling in the opener 12-6. The Bulldogs had 17 hits in game one off of DeJoode, who took the loss.

Pleasantville trailed 5-3 before Ogden scored four in the fifth for the win.

Game two saw Pleasantville on top 14-1 with a 15-hit attack led by S. McKinney with three hits and McGriff with two home runs and five RBI.

Vander Hart earned the 3-inning win with a 4-hitter.

Pleasantville moved to 16-2 in the WCAC and to 23-7 overall.
