Knoxville checks in with a record of 4-5 overall after they split a pair of games at the Oskaloosa Softball Tournament Saturday at Lacey Sports Park and lost to Clarke 7-2 Monday in Osceola.
In the South Central Conference the Panthers are 2-2 overall.
Knoxville beat Pella Christian 8-3 to open the Oskaloosa Tourney. Freshman Jadyn Streigle earned the pitching win. She went six innings and gave up five hits, one earned run, fanned six and walked one.
Emery Neer, Maddy Findley, Alex Griggs and Olivia Maasdam each had two hits for the Panthers. Streigle ripped a triple to help her cause.
Neer, Emma Dunkin and Griggs each had two RBI.
Later in the day Knoxville lost to Newton 4-3 with Ashlyn Finarty pitching.
KHS had just five hits, but two of them were doubles off the bats of Reilly Finarty and Jordyn Franck.
Albia beat the Panthers May 31, 11-5. Neer had three hits and Dunkin two for the Panthers.
Finarty gave up seven hits and 11 runs, eight of them earned. She walked nine and fanned three in taking the loss.
Knoxville whipped up on No. 12 ranked Centerville 14-2 in three innings May 30 in Centerville.
Neer was 4-of-4 at the plate and scored three runs to lead the offense.
Griggs added two doubles and two RBI.
Finarty earned the pitching win by scattering three hits. She fanned three and walked five.
