A 4-0 home win Friday night over Bondurant-Farrar put the Panther record at 14-12 overall.

It was a brilliant pitching performance by eighth grader Ashlyn Finarty, who allowed just one hit in the game. She fanned two and walked one to earn the win.

Knoxville collected 13 hits, but managed only four runs, all of them coming in the fourth inning of play.

The post July 4 fireworks by the Panthers included an RBI from Alex Griggs with a solo home run. Also in the inning was a single by Reilly Finarty that drove in two runs and Melanie Sullivan with an RBI double.

The Lady Jays flew back home to Bondurant with a season mark of 17-17.

Knoxville has now won five of their last six outings. The lone setback being to No. 3 ranked ADM.

Odds and Ends

The Panthers open Class 4A Regional Softball action at home July 11 as they face the Gilbert Tigers in a game starting at 7 p.m.

Gilbert entered the final week of the season with a record of 17-19.
