The Knoxville Panthers faced the Newton Cardinals Saturday in bowling action in Newton.
The KHS varsity boys’ team improved to 7-3 overall with a win over the Cardinals 2,745 to 2,471 on pin count.
Knoxville had two bowlers post two-game series totals of over 400. Blaise Hubler, a senior, led the way Saturday with consistent games of 211 and 210 for a series of 421.
Keagan McCarty was closed behind with a 406 series and a high game of 214.
Deven Renard was third on the Panther charts with a 187 high game and a 369 series.
The rest of the Panther varsity totals showed Donovan Binns with a 327 series and Kyler Reidel at 310.
Also bowling for Knoxville, but not counting in the team total was Andy Funk.
Panther Coach Shaun Renard stated, “The boys put up the highest score of my coaching career today and all the varsity teammates played a vital role in the win.”
The Cardinals beat the KHS girls 2,315 to 2,068 at Cardinal Lanes.
The Panthers fell to 6-3 with the loss.
Knoxville was paced by Lily Cieslak with a 187 high game and a 321 series.
Kiana Brown had 298 series and a high game of 180 for Knoxville.
The rest of the KHS scoring showed Saphyre McCombs with a 291 series, Haylie Wadle at 252 and Lilliana Mejia at 236.
Also bowling for Knoxville, but not counting in the team total for the day was Raegan Cook.
The Panthers will host Bondurant-Farrar Saturday in a meet starting at 9 a.m. in Monroe at Mustang Lanes.
