The Knoxville Panther varsity girls’ basketball team got a tune-up to the 2019-20 season by facing Ottumwa in a Pride Scrimmage Nov. 21 in Knoxville.

The game didn’t count on the record, but the exhibition win went to the Lady Bulldogs 61-55.

Katie Keitges had 30 points in leading the way for the Panthers, 19 of the points came in the opening half of play when the Panthers left the court with a 32-30 advantage.

Knoxville raced out to a huge 11-3 early lead. The Bulldogs closed fast and outscored the Panthers 19-2 to lead 22-13.

Ottumwa placed two players in double digits, Grace Bookin-Nobisch with 20 and Kacy Nickerson with 16.

The scrimmage included a personal hygiene/food drive for admission at the gate. All items went to the Knoxville School Food Pantry.
