An 8-1 win over the Newton Cardinals Monday night made it eight straight wins for the Knoxville Panthers.
Knoxville has recently been as hot as the scorching July heat.
Newton actually held a slim 1-0 lead over Knoxville until the top of the seventh when the Panthers unloaded the bats for eight runs and the win.
Knoxville had 10 hits in the contest as Patrick Crawford, Jacob Zuck and Rylan Cox each delivered two hits.
Cox hit a single and a double as he drove in three of the Panther runs in the seventh to break the game open.
Ben Wallace started on the hill for Knoxville but he was relieved by freshman Mike Hudson, who earned the win going 3.1 innings and allowing three hits and one run.
The victory put the KHS mark at 28-11 for the year.
