The Knoxville Panthers beat Centerville 4-2 June 17 at home to improve to 6-2 in league play and to 9-9 overall.
Knoxville broke a 1-1 tie with the Redettes in the third inning with a pair of runs and they added another in the fourth for the victory.
Panther 8th grader Ashlyn Finarty was the winning pitcher. She gave up two runs on seven hits, walked four and fanned two.
Finarty’s teammates had the bats working for seven hits, two each by Emery Neer and Cheyenne Tille.
Finarty hit a double and led the Panthers with two RBI.
The rest of the KHS hits were singles of the bats of Emma Dunkin and Charlie Ver Meer and a single and a double by Tille.
