Tanna Davis was the fifth Knoxville runner to cross the finish line in the varsity 5K event.

The Knoxville Panthers finished in 12th place at the Knoxville Panther home cross country invitational held Oct. 1 at the Pine Knolls Country Club Course.

Norwalk had a daily double as the Warriors won both the varsity boys and girls team titles in the 5K event.

Norwalk won a narrow battle over Indianola to claim the varsity girls’ team title with 72 points. The Indianola Indians were runner-up with 79 points.

The Panthers had 284 points for the day.

Knoxville’s individual leader was their fabulous freshman Norah Pearson, who was second overall at 20:22.

In JV action the Panthers ran three girls. Madelynn Liston was 44th at 29:47, Claire Fay 74th and Anna McDonald 75th.
