The Melcher-Dallas Saints had a very festive Coal Miner’s Day at the softball field Saturday.
The Saints beat West Central Valley 13-6 and S.E. Warren 4-0.
The two wins put Coach Jim Crozier’s squad at 18-4 overall.
M-D pitcher Emilie Krpan only allowed the S.E. Warren Warhawks one hit in the 4-0 shutout.
The Saints had eight hits led by Riley Enfield with a pair of doubles.
In the win over West Central Valley, the Saints had 15 big hits and 13 runs.
Haley Godfrey had three RBI while Kynser Reed, Gracie Mann and DoraMae Bennett each drove in two runs.
Krpan twirled a 5-hitter at West Central.
Odds and Ends
The Saints beat Lamoni 15-2 June 17, Mormon Trail the next night 12-0 and Moulton-Udell 14-0 June 20.
Krpan tossed a 3-inning no-hitter at M-U, a one-hit shutout over MT and just three hits in the win over Lamoni.
Reed had three hits and three RBI against the M-U Eagles.
M-D had only three hits against Mormon Trial, but 11 walks helped out.
The Lamoni game went 5-innings, the Trail game was called after four innings and the M-U contest went three.
The wins put the M-D mark at 18-4 overall.
