The Melcher-Dallas Saints faced a strong Colo-Nesco football team in Colo last Friday evening on a night the temperature was in the 30s.
Colo-Nesco flexed their muscle against the Saints by winning the 8-Man contest 58-12.
M-D Coach Pat Ferguson only had 12 players dressed for the game due to injuries.
The Saints struggled to stop the run. Francis Bower had 171 yards rushing on 19 carries and Andrew Grover ran for 159 on 10 totes of the pigskin.
Colo-Nesco combined for seven rushing touchdowns and they had one passing.
M-D countered with Noe Van Trzebiatowski with 108 yards rushing on 19 attempts.
Steven Krpan, M-D’s starting quarterback, was 6-of-17 passing for 75 yards and one score. Krpan was intercepted three times.
Krpan had a touchdown pass of 12-yards to his twin brother Ryan.
The other M-D score of the night was a 2-yard run into the end zone by Steven Krpan.
On defense the Saints were led on the tackle charts by Ryan Krpan with 10.5 tackles, Cole Metz had eight and Owen Mann five.
The Saints fell to 2-5 for the season with the loss.
