Melcher-Dallas suffered its first loss of the season Tuesday, Sept. 17, in Murray.

The Saints beat the Mustangs in game one 25-16, but Murray rallied back to win the match 25-20, 25-21, 25-22 in the next three games.

M-D Coach Jesyka Nolte stated, “We lacked some mental toughness and communication tonight. We did a nice job serving but just couldn’t get our hits to fall and our defense was one step behind several times. It’s our first loss of the season, so we will dust ourselves off and get ready for our next game.”

Statistical leaders for the Saints included Haley Godfrey and Grave Overgaard with 15 and 8 kills respectively.

Riley Enfield was 31-of-34 serving with five big aces. Godfrey was 12-of-12 with two aces and Kacey Enfield was 11-of-11 at the line.

R. Enfield also added 17 assists. Dig leaders were Kacey Enfield with 15, Riley Enfield 14, Kynser Reed 9, Lilly Bennett and Emma Heaberlin each with 5.
