Coach Kelsey Goff’s Melcher-Dallas Saints opened the season on the road Nov. 26 facing the Wayne Falcons in Corydon.

M-D fell behind early and could never catch up to the Falcons. Wayne held quarter leads of 13-6, 18-10 and 36-23 en route to the 50-37 win.

The Saints had 12 points from Kacey Enfield, 10 by Kynser Reed, eight from Haley Godfrey and seven by Grace Overgaard.

M-D’s top two scorers for the game both fouled out.

Since the opener the Saints have two wins one against Ankeny Christian reported earlier and a victory over Cardinal in overtime Dec. 14, 49-47.

In the Cardinal win the Sants had 16 points from Reed and 11 by Haley Godfrey, seven by Overgaaard, six by Destinie Swanks and five from K. Enfield.

M-D fell to Lamoni 67-40 Dec. 10 in a game where Reed hit for 13 and Overgaard had 10 boards.

M-D fell to S.E. Warren 82-75 as Swanks had 19, Reed 17 and Godfrey 11.
