For the second week in a row the Twin Cedars Sabers lost the turnover battle. Normally when that happens, bad things happen.

Moravia took advantage by forcing the Sabers into three lost fumbles to gain a solid 51-12 win over TC. The Mohawks were playing at home and they rushed for five touchdowns and passed for two. Moravia also kicked a 32-yard field goal.

The Mohawks were led by Brett Cormeny with 113 yards rushing on eight carries and two scores. Giving solid balance was quarterback Will Martin with 103 yards rushing on nine attempts and two rushing touchdowns. He also threw for two more scores.

TC struggled to find much offense but they did manage two scores. Dallas Clark connected on a 21-yard scoring pass to Brayden DenBurger.

The other Saber score was a 20-yard jaunt into the end zone by Hunter McCombs.

McCombs actually led the way on the ground for the Sabers with 65 yards on five carries.

Levi Messamaker ran for 27 yards, Kade Dunkin totaled 27 yard rushing on two attempts and DenBurger ran for 24 yards.

Dunkin, DenBurger and McCombs each caught passes. DenBurger hauled in four passes for 37 yards and a score.

McCombs caught a pass that gained 45 yards.

For the second week in a row Kade Dunkin had a pass interception for the Sabers.

Topping the TC defense on the tackle charts were Dunkin with seven stops and DenBurger with 7.5. Next came Trenton Reed with six tackles and Messamaker with five.

Odds and Ends

TC now 0-2 overall while Moravia is 1-0.
