It became a three-peat for the Knoxville Panther volleyball team as they swept past the Centerville Redettes 25-15, 25-7, 25-16.
The South Central Conference win on the road Oct. 15 improved the KHS record to a perfect 6-0 in league play.
More important the victory enabled the Panthers to win their third straight SCC Championship.
Knoxville claimed the title by posting a game record of 18 wins against only 4 losses in league play.
The closest scare was by the Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont Rockets on the road Sept. 24. A match the Panthers won 3-2.
Albia was the only other league team to win a game as the Panthers beat the Lady Dees 3-1.
In the Centerville contest Coach Mollie Keitges’ crew had little trouble as indicated by looking at the final statistics.
Knoxville totaled 17 ace serves in the match, five by Katie Keitges, three each by Amy Sullivan and Maggie Wilkins and two by Emma Dunkin and Marley McKay.
Keitges was the hitting star with 19 kills followed by Reilly Finarty with 10, Peyton McMurray and Tara Uitermarkt each with five.
McKay had 37 assists in the contest.
Wilkins was a cleaning machine with 27 digs followed by Keitges 10, Lauren Micetich nine, Amy Sullivan five and Melanie Sullivan with four.
The Redettes wrapped up South Central Conference action with a record of 2-4 overall.
