The regular season came to a close for the Knoxville Panthers with a huge 15-0 loss to Dowling Catholic of West Des Moines July 16.

The Dowling Maroons scored early and often in the four inning affair.

Dowling pushed across three runs in the first inning, seven more in the second, three in the third and two in the fourth.

Kaleb Streigle took the loss on the mound for KHS. He gave up seven hits in 1.1 innings of work. Dowling also had nine runs, five of them earned while Streigle was pitching.

Knoxville managed only one hit in the contest, that being a single by Carter Bailey.

The loss put the Panthers at 12-28 to start District action.

Dowling improved to 27-11 with the victory on their home field.

Carter Baumler was the winning pitcher for Dowling as he fanned six in two innings on the mound.

Offensively the Maroons had 14 hits.

The Panthers are coached by Matt Miller.
